COVID safe

Spotlessly clean!

As a holiday home we have a duty of care to ensure Gwelmor is not only spotlessly clean, but that any nasties lurking are removed to the best of our ability.

We have always taken great pride in cleaning our luxurious holiday home to a five-star standard and guests have often commented on its sparkling cleanliness.

During the unprecedented times that Covid-19 threw at us, we gave our cleaning processes, products and protocols a complete overhaul.

We also have our Quality in Tourism 'Clean, Safety and Legal' accreditation.

Here is a guide to the steps we've taken to help reassure future guests:

Accreditation

  • We have obtained The Quality in Tourism accreditation
  • Visit England has awarded us a Covid-19 industry standard mark, showing we adhere to government and public health guidance
  • We have achieved the AA Covid-19 Competent shield
  • In line with Quality in Tourism guidelines, we have drawn up our own Risk Assessment which is regularly updated
  • Our cleaning staff have successfully completed a Covid-19 Holiday Let Cleaning course

Changeover

  • We use Mirius V1 Professional Antiviral Disinfectant on all hard surfaces and high traffic touch points around Gwelmor such as light switches, sockets, tables, door handles and appliances. Supplies are left for guests for use during their stay
  • Gwelmor has a key safe to reduces contact with guests. The keys, safe and cover are disinfected before each new arrival
  • A 'touch free' hand dispenser has been installed at the entrance of Gwelmor containing 70% alcohol hand sanitiser
  • Cushions covers are either rotated or washed while the inners and all decorative throws are sprayed with disinfectant/rotated
  • Check out instructions have been tweaked in-light of safety advice and guidance. Guests are now requested to strip down the beds and remove all towels and place them inside hotel linen bags provided before their departure

Other

Unfortunately we can no longer leave our traditional, hot-out-the-oven Cornish cream teas as a welcome treat but there will always be a little something left as a welcome gift.

Supplies of tea, coffee, sugar are individually wrapped and the pint of milk we leave guests in the fridge is disinfected, as are the salt and pepper grinders.

We are members of PASC UK Ltd (Professional Association of Self Caterers UK) and would like to take this opportunity to thank them for all the advice, guidance and support they provided throughout the pandemic.

Phew! I think that’s about it for now. We hope this givens you an insight into the work that is going on behind the scenes at Gwelmor in order to welcome all our guests safely.

If you require further information, please reach out via our contact form and we'll get back to you.
