Another wonderful stay at Gwelmor. A perfect base for touring around Cornwall and also Devon. So many brilliant dog friendly days out - Boscastle, Padstow, Rock, Port Isaac and even back to one of our favourites Lynmouth (although a slight distance and into Devon we love the river walk! As always Gwelmor has everything you could possibly need. Thank you! Looking forward to another return very soon.
This is our second time at Gwelmor and, hopefully won't be our last! We've had a brilliant week, despite the very windy weather. We enjoyed a sunny day at Boscastle and braved the Bude Sea pool this week too. We would recommend The Cornish Pie Company in Bude for a warm, dog-friendly experience after a bracing Bude walk. We also had a lovely meal at Widemouth Manor and a few hot drinks at the Widemouth Cafe on the beach. Gwelmor has everything we needed for a truly relaxing break. Many thanks.
Well once again a super stay and this time it came with dry warm weather. As before we walked the feet off the dogs... and off us too. Though they seemed to recover far quicker than any of us!! The Beach house 'roast on the coast' was super and so friendly and we had a lovely meal at Widemouth Manor too. A fantastic week full of magnificent views. So, so chilled. We will be back!
We've literally lost count of the number of times we have stayed at our home away from home over the last six years. We've had yet another great week as guests of our brilliant hosts Jayne and Bill. Gwelmor is a warm and very welcome haven set in a fantastic location. We hope to return again one day!
What a place! Every need catered for in wonderful surroundings. The house is well equipped with every eventuality catered for. If you're a foodie the kitchen is well equipped for every dish. There were only two of us but the property can house 6 with room to spare and in comfort. The beds are comfy and a good size. Our dogs were spoiled with treats and blankets The dog towels are a great idea which saves on packing and the enclosed garden allowed me to relax. Widemouth Bay is a short walk away and although the beach is pebbly a good walk can be had. So despite horizontal rain we had a fantastic time
As you enter through the front door at 'Gwelmor' you can't help think WOW, it's clean, fresh and beautifully presented throughout. It's so well equipped for humans and animals alike. Cosy bedrooms, comfy beds, vast living area, lovely safe enclosed garden and lots of little extras you might need for your stay. Just a short walk to the stunning beach...doggy heaven, interesting pebbles and great surf. Had a great hot chocolate at the beach cafe. I highly recommend 'Gwelmor' and would definitely like to return one day. Thank you for my prize, I've loved sharing it with my family. 1st time staying at Gwelmor, best place we have ever stayed at, great for our dogs, they relaxed straight away and so did we. We brought essentials but all was here, salt, pepper, oil, everything is here that you need. We will certainly come again. Unfortunately our dog was ill before we came, diabetes, a high blood pressure and Jayne was so kind and understanding and accommodated all our dogs as we normally leave 2 behind when we come away. We did have to leave a little early as Molly was poorly, but our stay here was wonderful, beds comfy, slept very well, nice quiet area. Thank you
My second visit to the enchanting Gwelmor, it really is a home from home for us with facilities aplenty for myself and my Cockapoo Milly! Lovely quiet retreat with the beautiful wild coast of Widemouth Bay a short walk away. We will be back!
Back again for our 7th visit and once again Gwelmor has been everything we hoped for and more - even storm Ciaran couldn't spoil our fun as the house is so cosy and quiet. Coastal path to Bude is always a favourite walk and Milky Way Adventure Park a big hit with the 6 year old. The house is so well equipped, including dog supplies, which we were very grateful for as we packed in a hurry and forgot Arlo's bowls. We all slept so soundly - a combination of lots of fresh air and the super comfy beds! We hope to return soon
We had such a lovely stay, this home is absolutely beautiful. Everything we needed and more! The doggy extras were very much appreciated! Mavi, Kojo and Bubu loved it here! Sandy beaches, walks and cosy nights in... They felt really welcome and settled right in. Perfect for a pooch friendly holiday!
Friday the 13th - usually dubbed as unlucky, however it was extremely lucky for us as we discovered Gwelmor! We have had the most wonderful week regardless of some of the challenging weather. Gwelmor is the best cottage we have ever stayed in. It was so lovely knowing our dogs are as welcome as us, it has everything we could possibly need. The beach is so close and a great place to wear out our three border collies. They loved it as much as we have. Thanks Jayne, Bill, Indy and Margo for sharing you home.
After a worrying year we arrived and it felt like coming home. The ocean, the beach and walks its been a pure joy to be here in this lovely place. Thank you Gwelmor thank you.
We've been coming to Gwelmor for 4 years now - another lovely week and we fell lucky with the weather. Cottage always really well equipped. Dogs love the beach and our toddler (19 months) loved it too, as well as watering all the plants outside! We would recommend parking at The Weir and then walking down the canal to Bude. Food at The Bank at Bude is amazing, as was the food at Coombe Barton Inn in Cracking Haven. The Milky Way is excellent value for a day out with toddlers (adults loved it too!) Already booked again for next year

We have had another lovely stay at Gwelmor despite the weather being so hot for our dog! The beach has been a lifeline and there is plenty of shade in the garden. We thoroughly recommend Sandymouth when the tide is going out/coming in for a cooling swim and the cafe is great too. We look forward to returning again next Spring in the cooler weather.
With or without a dog, this place is fitted for all eventualities. We came with a dog by the way 'Cluedo' and he loved all the space this property gives you. We are thankful for all of the help with the beach ware in the garage. Next time we can travel so much lighter :) Cluedo is still unsure of the sea but did have a paddle. Thank you once again for a wonderful place to stay and rest from the slog of work. This is a haven for all who choose to stay.

Gorgeous setting with the beach only a short stroll away perfect for a doggie paddle in the sea. House is perfect and has a very homely and warm feeling. Dog absolutely loved her time on the beach. Our first stay at Gwelmor and it has been a wonderfully relaxing break. We're already looking at diaries to see when we can return!! This really is a 'home from home' and our 3 dogs loved the garden (peace of mind being so secure when have escapees!) It's so hard to find somewhere truly 'dog friendly' but Jayne and Bill really have considered everything. Perfect for sandy walks on the beach at the end of the road and as a base for travelling around nearby Cornwall. Boscastle well worth a visit. Looking forward to returning again very soon. Thank you!
Another amazing stay in our favourite holiday home! Fabulous walks on the Coast Path, lazy days on the beach, delicious lunches at Boscastle and The Weir and ice-creams a-plenty. Truly wonderful multi-generational stay with grandma, great aunty, parents and two kids. Thank you
The house is stunning everything you would want is provided. The few questions we had Jayne replied promptly. It truly is dog friendly and not just dog tolerated. The treats left for all of us, dogs included, were a lovely touch. The house is in a perfect position for day trips out and the beach. Already booked for next year.
We had a wonderful stay at Gwelmor A perfect location for the beach in a quiet setting. The garden is so safe for the dogs and it’s great to sit out in the patio area. Everything you could possibly need was there, for humans and dogs alike! The bungalow is stunning and exceedingly well equipped.
Marley and his humans had a lovely stay, despite the showers. Although having been to Widemouth for several years we had not stayed here before. We will definitely be back, hopefully later this year. As always we have enjoyed our lunch at Widemouth Manor who are extremely dog friendly. Thank you.
Wonderful short break after winning the holiday prize with 'Dog Friendly' magazine. Brought 2 'old' friends with us and, of course, our GSD Savannah. Gwelmor always delivers!! The Beach Bar is a great place to eat. The walks are really good, and of course the beach is fantastic. This is our fourth stay and it is always sad having to go home, but at least we have the next visit to look forward to. Thank you.
Our first time at Gwelmor and we will be back. We wanted for nothing! The house was perfect and in a perfect position. A short walk to the beach every morning, and evening sometimes, and the coastal path glorious. The food at The Beach House was great and they happily welcomed two wet, sandy collies into their midst. We have been coming to Gwelmor once or twice a year for the past six years - you could say that we like it! Jayne and Bill are amazing hosts, nothing is too much trouble for their guests. The accommodation is always sparkling clean and well equipped. Just the two of us have stayed here with our three fur babies over the years and they have had wonderful holidays running on the sand and chasing in the water. Now we visit with fewer dogs but more children and grandchildren. Gwelmor is a great place to stay for either dogs or humans! Widemouth Bay is a fantastic location in itself but also a great base for exploring the wider location. We never tire of visiting our old favourite spots and are still making new discoveries along this stunning coastline. We’re already booked in again for next year!
Had a wonderful stay at this beautiful property, it always felt like we were returning to a home not a holiday property each day. We loved the Beach House for a drink and meal, laid back and very dog friendly with lovely food. We booked very last minute & everything was perfect, will definitely be returning.

Our 2nd visit and again didn't disappoint. Beautifully clean and probably the best equipped cottage we have ever stayed in. Lovely touches for the hounds, who enjoyed (like the humans) their stay immensely. We had wonderful weather in a beautiful location. We have had a great holiday with our humans! We've loved the walks on the beach and swimming in the sea. Thank you for the treats and all the things that you left for us to use. We have been really safe in the garden which has been reassuring for our owners.

We had a lovely time staying at Gwelmor – the house was fantastic, with everything we could possibly need. The weather could have been better, but we still managed to get out and about and enjoyed our break. Otis loved the bag of treats left for him, and we enjoyed our treats too.
Great week spent at Gwelmor at the beginning of June, weather could have been kinder but it didn’t spoil our enjoyment. The bungalow is fab, very well equipped, they have thought of everything. Especially good for our 3 dogs who enjoyed the freedom of the enclosed garden. Location is perfect; proximity to the beach was great for dog walking and boogie boarding for the younger members of our party and Bude, with all its amenities, just a short drive away. Would definitely recommend.
Beautiful place to stay, the house has everything you need and is so close to the beach and the lovely local restaurants. The garden is a little sun trap and was a nice quite space to enjoy a BBQ! We stayed with our three Greyhounds and they were so welcomed and well catered for, which is a pretty tough find when you have three large dogs. Jayne was also so helpful when we had to postpone our original trip due to one our dogs having surgery at the last minute and her attentiveness to ensure we had everything we needed before our stay was so appreciated. We would definitely return for another stay and have already recommended it to friends of ours who love Cornwall as much as we do. Thanks again Jayne, Bill , Molly , Indy & Margo! X
We love coming to Bude and staying at Gwelmor is always a pleasure. We instantly feel at home, such a beautiful home in a great location. Very clean & tidy and everything you need to have a enjoyable holiday. All the added touches are greatly appreciated. The beds are super comfortable and we always manage to get great nights sleep. Can’t wait to return and highly recommend to anyone seeking a wonderful holiday .
We had a lovely week at Gwelmor. The house was beautifully decorated and furnished, super comfortable and well-equipped with everything needed for your stay. We loved the dog cupboard - we could have almost forgotten to pack anything at all for the dog and it would have been fine - and the secure garden meant we could relax properly. The location is fantastic - really peaceful and just a very short walk from the beach and coastal path. We loved the welcome gifts, and the dog definitely loved his too! Thank you for a lovely stay.
We had a fabulous week at Gwelmor. The situation is very good, being within a couple of minutes walk from the beach at Widemouth on quiet access roads. The house is spacious with everything you need for both people and dogs. The garden is private and secure. The owners are very helpful and contacted us in advance to ensure we had all the information we needed. We will definitely come back and would highly recommend it to others.

Your 'hoomans' have thought of everything for us doggo's. My favourite place was sitting outside in the lovely large fully enclosed garden. I would sit on the patio and play with the ball. Lovely large property. Plenty of space for six adults and three dogs. Very clean. Lots of extra thought for the dogs - towels, blankets, treats. A very well equipped property, a real home from home and an excellent location for the beach.

Words fail me! We've been on many dog friendly holidays but your home far surpasses anywhere we've stayed. The beach is perfect and I'm so glad I had faith in my choice and booked for next year. Lola absolutely loved the beach and was impeccably behaved.
Perfect! Wow, where to start, if you've got dogs and you want to take them on holiday in Cornwall this is the place! The bungalow is extremely spacious with plentiful amenities - tumble dryer, washing machine, fully fitted out kitchen, loads of cups, plates and glassess, treats for the dogs, dog towels! the list is endless. The owner even got us a slow cooker in preparation for our visit! Very well presented rooms, the website and photos really don't do it justice. Widemouth Bay is a quiet, unspoilt beach, perfect for dogs. We will definitely be back! Thank you.
Another fantastic holiday in Cornwall staying in wonderful accommodation. Gwelmor is perfectly located for quick access to a great beach and also for exploring the wider area. The house is well equipped and spotless. We had six adults and three dogs in our party, there was plenty of room for all! We will be returning for visit number seven in March - can't wait!
