For many people, finding a dog friendly holiday cottage with a garden to ensure no escapees is essential.
At Gwelmor, we have a fully enclosed garden with two full length side gates which are lockable so no dog, no matter how small, has any chance of performing a disappearing act!
It's just one of the elements of our dog-friendly holiday cottage which saw us named the South West's Best Dog Friendly Business of the Year 2021/2022 and win Gold at the Cornwall Tourism Awards 2021/2022.
We strongly believe that to be dog-friendly do not mean advertising 'dogs welcome'. At Gwelmor we try to make our four-legged VIPs feel as welcome as their owners.
We launched Gwelmor in 2017 after experience some not-so-dog-friendly 'dog-friendly' cottages whilst on holiday with cocker spaniels Molly and Indy, and now our newcomer Margo who joined the Gwelmor family in 2021.
So what else does Gwelmor offer?

We also provide a welcome gift of hand-made Cornish dog treats to all our dog guests with a personalised name tag.
In addition, Gwelmor is just four minutes walk to the beach at Widemouth Bay. Whilst Widemouth does have a seasonal dog ban (between May 15 and September 30 10am to 6pm), just a short stroll over the sand dunes behind Widemouth Cafe (why not grab a coffee to go?) is Black Rock which is dog-friendly all year round.
There are plenty of other dog friendly beaches so close to us on the north Cornwall coast - some of them really worth a visit as they're stunning, and we'd recommed Northcott Mouth Beach and Sandymouth Bay.
There are also plenty of dog-friendly attractions close to us, so everyone - two or four legged - can have a fab break away.
