Eco Friendly

Doing our bit for the environment

What we do to reduce our
carbon footprint

At multi-award-winning Gwelmor, we are continually looking for new ways to make our self-contained holiday cottage more eco-friendly and help reduce our carbon footprint.

  • We’ve installed a private EV charging point for guests (via the Voltshare app) and are currently exploring the installation of a heat pump to replace our LPG gas tank.

Throughout the property, all wooden furniture is made from recycled or sustainably sourced wood by Chunky Monkey Furniture in Devon, combining sustainability with craftsmanship.

  • Guests can enjoy a touch of spa-style luxury with our natural toiletries in refreshing scents such as Grapefruit, Orange/Lime and Mint. These come in 100% recycled, refillable pumps from local Cornish company Land & Water.

We also use organic, handmade mattresses from Naturalmat in Devon, ensuring a comfortable and environmentally conscious stay.

In addition, all toilet and kitchen rolls are 100% recycled from Who Gives A Crap—a company that donates 50% of its profits to improve sanitation worldwide.

  • We make it easy for guests to minimise waste during their stay with:

    • Recycling bins for glass, tins, paper and card

    • A green food bin and ‘hot’ composter for biodegradable waste

    • A book swap scheme—leave one behind and take one with you

We’re always open to new ideas, so if you have suggestions on how we can do even better, we’d love to hear from you.
